RTS Launches North West Awards

News Image
The Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced that entries are now open for the RTS North West Awards 2013.
The awards have been established to "recognise the wealth of creative talent in the North West, honouring the work of production teams, writers, presenters and actors across genres including comedy, drama, factual, current affairs and kids."
This year a new award for the best learning or education programme has been introduced.
Alex Connock, Chair of the RTS North West Centre, says: "What was already a very exciting occasion once a year to celebrate the best output in the North West has gone to a whole new level with the doubling of the production in the region through MediaCity.
"And we now have a new category to bring in the best of education programming from broadcasters, producers and universities. This year will be better than ever and we urge everyone to enter the great creative work they have been doing in the region."
Entries must have first been transmitted between 1 August 2012 and 31 July 2013 and the closing date for all entries is Friday 26 July 2013. Entries will only be judged if they have been principally produced or filmed within the North West.
The Awards dinner will be held on Saturday 23 November 2013.
