Sony Returns To IBC

Sony has announced it will be returning to IBC this September to showcase its new products and services.
"IBC2013 gives Sony the opportunity to share its vision for the broadcast industry," a statement from the company said.
"Through exciting developments in technology, products, solutions and services, Sony is pushing the boundaries of what is possible and creating a world beyond definition."
The company will be keen to use IBC to illustrate some of the recent projects it has been involved in.
Sony has provided 2D venue facilities, including systems integration services, event equipment as well as technical facilities and operations for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 in Brazil, where it has also been trialling 4K live production workflow.
Sony was also responsible for shooting and recording part of this year’s Wimbledon Championships in 4K.
Other initiatives include the John Lennon Bus and the Sony PROduction awards.
Earlier this year, Sony partnered with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, providing production equipment, integration services and consultancy to help the development of core skills around music, video and digital production in young students across Europe.
In May of this year, Sony announced the winners of the Sony PROduction Awards; a competition to uncover and new and aspiring filmmakers.

As well as discussing our vision for a world beyond definition, it gives us the chance to share learnings and explain how we have overcome the challenges of filming some of the world’s largest events in 4K," said Olivier Bovis, Head of AV Media, Sony Europe.
