Channel 4 Documentary Wins Rose d'Or

News Image
Channel 4 has won a Rose d'Or award for its 2012 documentary, Make Bradford British.
Produced by Love Productions, the show was a major two-part series exploring what it means to be British.
It brought together some of Bradford's residents - all British citizens, but from different races and backgrounds - to see if they could decide on a common notion of the thread that binds them all together; what it means to be British.
The series used the Government's Life in the UK Test as a prism to explore British-ness, overcoming stereotypes and preconceptions to uncover the shared values and common ground in what it means to be British.
The Rose d'Or is one of the world's renowned entertainment television festivals. Founded in 1961 in Montreux, Switzerland, today television professionals, producers, managers of private and public television stations and production company heads from about 40 countries participate annually.
Jay Hunt, Channel 4’s Chief Creative Officer said: "Make Bradford British was a brilliantly imaginative looking at multiculturalism today. It’s fantastic that its innovation has been recognised with the Rose D’Or."
