BSkyB Scoops Live 3D TV Event Award
BSkyB has won the 2012 International 3D Society Lumiere Award-Europe for outstanding "Live 3D TV Event" for The Isle of Wight Festival coverage.
The project was produced by Blink TV for BSkyB and directed by Marcus Viner.
Senior Editor, Reg Wrench at Preditors oversaw the transition from offline to Mistika 3D online. Online Stereographer, Ross Copeland was responsible for the 3D geometry alignment, depth grade and finishing of the two 90-minute highlight films in record time, over just seven days, using Mistika at Preditors. Reg and Ross established a very fast workflow to transfer the finished 3D edit to Mistika where all the parts and graphics conformed instantly.
Ross observes: "Thanks to Mistika's excellent Stereo 3D toolset, all three hours of the festival performance were adjusted and aligned to pass the high quality Sky 3D technical specifications. Mistika's ability to be at the core of very fast workflows, enables long form projects like this to be completed in the time available."
