Eyeheight DI-2/DX-2 RS-422-based SDI data link

Latest additions to the Eyeheight range of broadcast and post-production equipment, the DI-2 user data inserter and DX-2 data extractor, provide a bridge for the conveyance of RS-422 data in an SDI signal stream.
Using robust vertical-interval timecode techniques, the DI-2 is ideal for packaging metadata with a video clip or delivering sports statistics with video for remote graphic insertion. Other uses include remote signalling and file transfer.
Up to 9.6 kbit/s can be accommodated using just three lines of video in vertical blanking or within the image overscan area. Video line location and data redundancy settings are user-selectable. Extracted data can be output via an RS-422 interface integral to Eyeheight's Flexi-Panel or via an RS-232 to I-Bus dongle. Six DI-2 data insertion modules, six DX-2 data extractors, or combinations of the two, can be housed in a standard 1 U Eyeheight FB-9 Flexi-Box chassis with optional local control from an FP-9 panel or FP-10 desk-mountable remote panel. A DI-2 or DX-2 can alternatively be housed in a standalone desktop MB-9 Mini-Box.
