K-Array Proves The Perfect Fit For Annabel’s

With Leona Lewis set to perform at one of London’s top private members clubs, Annabel’s, Steve White from Patchwork London, the club’s audio provider, needed a loudspeaker system that would provided a high quality sound, without unwanted visual impact. A KR200 system from the Italian innovators proved perfect for both requirements.
The system specification originally came from Leona’s front of house engineer Dave Wooster, who knew they needed something that could cope with the very low ceiling and compact nature of the venue.
“From my perspective this is the perfect system for the job, not only for size, but for the performance that was required for a very discerning audience,” says Dave. “Leona performed a completely acoustic set featuring a band comprising backing vocals, piano, acoustic guitar and cello, the balance and nuances of which were perfectly reproduced by the KR200.”
“We first saw the K-array on a previous Leona Lewis show,” recalls Steve. “We were really impressed with the sound even before considering how small and compact it is.”
For Leona’s appearance Steve hired the KR200s from London-based audio rental company Capital Sound, but he was so impressed he decided to purchase a system for Patchwork.
“We have since used the K-array on shows with Paolo Nutini, Paloma Faith and Beverly Knight at Annabel’s,” Steve continues. “The system is ideal for our shows there as it doesn't restrict sight lines and still produces a great fully bodied sound.
“Before the show with Paolo we were interested to see how it would cope with a drum kit, and we were really impressed. The definition and punch is what you would expect from a far larger PA.
“As a small company we need to punch above our weight; keeping quality high at the same time as being efficient is crucial. The K-Array allows us to do both.”
