Brick House release new broadcast specification SDI switchers

Brick House Video, the innovative manufacturer of award-winning compact switchers, are launching their second-generation, competitively priced VTB-2DC broadcast specification SDI rack-mount 1RU switcher at NAB 2003 (Booth SU 5127).
The new unit is based upon the architecture of the widely-accepted VTB-1D but incorporates significant enhancements to its predecessor, including frame-store synchronizers which allow the user to work with asynchronous sources such as satellite downlinks, and digital audio processing including slave mixes. An important new feature is the addition of composite input and DSK options at very low cost.
An 8-input switcher, the VTB-2D offers the user the option of analogue/digital hybrid operation, with four of the inputs assignable as composite. On the output side, the VTB-2D has program and preview SDI, and an assignable program/preview composite output. There are also four auxiliary SDI outputs that can be used for source, program or preview distribution, and the VTB-2D capabilities include functioning as an 8X6 router.
In addition to freeze frame and standard wipes and mixes, the switcher offers soft and variable width/hue border and variable rate auto fade to black, has full editor capability, and can be controlled by most current models, including Sony and Grass Valley. The VTB-2DC will also offer a single-layer dual-channel DSK as an option.
The VTB-2DR desk-mount panel controls the VTB-2DC rack-mount unit via an RS-422 cable, and power is also supplied to the remote from this lead, thus removing the need for a separate power supply.
