4HM Make More MADI Magic At IBC

4HM has launched their latest development, a MADI monitor at IBC.
The new product will be to the highest broadcast spec with redundant power supply as standard. Alongside the new monitor 4HM they displayed the successful SAM64 SDI/AES to MADI interface and their comprehensive range of breakouts, interfaces and converters for multi-format AES and MADI audio streams.
The new device named the MADI-MON will be capable of monitoring up to 64 audio channels and will feature a comprehensive range of MADI facilities.
The 4HM range also includes the aforementioned SAM64, a cost-effective solution to the problem of connecting audio equipment to SDI-based infrastructure and taking up only 1U of rack space. The SAM64 provides the interface between SDI video bitstreams and digital audio.
SAM64 extracts 16 audio channels from each of the unit’s four SDI inputs to provide a total of 64 audio channels in both MADI and AES3 formats. All SDI inputs independently auto-sense between 3G, HD and SD standards and are provided with loop-through connectivity for downstream equipment.
The MA64 is a 1U MADI converter designed specifically for broadcast and production applications. It accepts both optical and coaxial MADI and simultaneously makes 32 pairs of balanced AES/EBU and unbalanced AES3-id available for interconnection to broadcast routers, audio consoles or any other AES equipped devices.
Wordclock, Video, AES and MADI synchronisation options enable easy integration into any broadcast facility; whilst further broadcast related features, including redundant power supplies, Dolby® E compliance and a high build-quality ensure that the MA64 provides a space-efficient solution to MADI conversion in the broadcast environment.
The ASBO is a sturdy, high-quality 1U, 19” rack-mounting AES breakout box providing 32 x 75 ohm BNC connections and built to the highest broadcast specifications. Designed to connect directly to the SAM64 and MA64, ASBO is a convenient, quick and cost-effective solution for gaining access to the SAM64’s AES-3id outputs. A 30 cm cable comes as standard with the ASBO.
The 1U BOB/O-32 breakout box is designed to complement the MA64 (or any third-party device that provides up to eight AES/EBU output pairs on a single DB-25 connector - Tascam format). Each BOB/O-32 is fitted with a pair of DB-25 input connectors and presents 16 pairs of AES/EBU outputs on XLR3M front panel connectors.
Its complementary partner, the BOB/I-32 interface box, does almost the reverse. It provides an interface between 16 pairs of AES/EBU inputs (on XLR3F front panel mounted connectors) and two DB-25 rear panel connectors (conforming to the Tascam AES format). An ideal unit for interfacing to any appropriate input device, the BOB/I-32 provides a sturdy and reliable interface solution as required in many broadcast situations.
