Leader Instruments To Launch PHABRIX Rx2000
Leader Instruments Corporation has chosen SET 2012 (Broadcast & Cable International Technology Fair, São Paulo, 21-23 August) for the launch of the new PHABRIX Rx2000 modular dual-screen test and measurement system into the Americas.
“The Rx2000 is a rack-mount test generator and analyser employing the same easy-to-use graphic control interface as PHABRIX’ established range of portable test instruments,” comments George Gonos, President of Leader Instruments Corporation. “It is the flagship of a range which also includes the Rx1000 full-width 1U and Rx500 half-width 1U rasterisers. The Rx2000 is 2U high and occupies just six inches from front back. It has a trapezoid side profile allowing the front panel to be tilted upwards or downwards within the rack bay. This feature provides optimal viewing angle at various eye levels and will be particularly appreciated wherever space is at a premium, including outside broadcast and mobile production vehicles, in post-production and in technical support areas. The Rx2000 also provides instrumentation via a 1920 x 1080 HDMI/SDI output, allowing a multiview of scalable instruments to be displayed on inexpensive HDMI monitors or routed through broadcast infrastructures via SDI."
Available for SD/HD-SDI or 3G-SDI system formats, the Rx2000 accommodates up to four modules from a range currently including single-input and dual-input video analysers, dual-input eye/jitter analyser, video generator, combined video generator/analyser, four-channel or eight-channel AES audio analyser, Dolby E/D/D Plus analyser and MADI analyser. All modules are interchangeable throughout the Rx series. Each Rx instrument has an inbuilt line based generator as standard. More sophisticated generator modules are available with dual link support.
Two 4.3 inch 16:9 aspect ratio screens are located on the front panel of the Rx2000, one assigned to video confidence monitoring and the other to menu viewing and instrumentation. Forward-facing wide-range audio monitor loudspeakers are located left and right of the displays. A quarter-inch stereo audio jack socket and USB-2 port are also positioned on the front panel.
In addition to being fully controllable from the front panel, all features of the Rx2000 can be accessed under mouse and keyboard control or via standard web browsers. Firmware and software can be upgraded remotely.
Rear-panel connections include 9-17 volt direct-current XLR power, reference loop-through, AES input, dual USB-2 ports for keyboard and mouse, Ethernet port, GPI/LTC/analog-audio port and four module bays. Also on the rear panel are full 1080 x 1920 resolution rasterised HD-SDI and HDMI outputs allowing graphic data from the Rx2000 to be viewed on external screens of any size and at any location in a facility. The rasteriser display can be pushbutton-switched between video and instrumentation with access to 99 presets.
Software options are also available which are applied to the Rx chassis rather than individual modules, providing exceptional value per SDI channel.
