Alassema TV Chooses PlayBox Technology

PlayBox Technology has equipped its first TV channel in Libya, Alassema TV. Alassema, Arabic for “capital”, was only recently able to finally touch Libyan soil and start broadcasting from its own premises in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
At the end of 2011, after many difficult years and many challenges in reaching its viewers, Alassema and PlayBox Technology started to design the best possible workflow solution for the Libyan channel (broadcasting from Tunisia at the time). In February 2012 all details were clarified and the contract was signed.

We did that using different satellite providers, such as JASCO and NOORSAT, where AirBox / TitleBox servers proved to be reliable for us. And after much moving around Tunisia and back to Libya, we were finally able to move from one hotel conference room and OB van to our own building with our own studios. Then there was no question but to make our first MCR purchase from PlayBox Technology.” He continues, “We were offered a complete solution that covers all our needs at a very competitive price. In April 2012 we supplied two SD Channel-in-a-Box servers, one for main, and one for backup and a separate SD CaptureBox server together with 32 TB of NAS storage. The whole MCR was designed and built by our engineers including the installation of all third-party equipment.”
