J. Peter Robinson: Best Of 'Charmed' OST Gets Release

The best scores from the “Charmed” TV series (1998 – 2006) are now available at Perseverance Records. The label is going to release a two-disc-collection with a running time of 134 minutes, featuring 68 tracks composed by J. Peter Robinson. The release is available at a price of $19.99 and available at Perseverance exclusively.
Robin Esterhammer, owner of Perseverance Records, says: “We are happy to present this collection of the `Charmed´ underscore, selected, re-recorded and edited by J. Peter Robinson himself in his home studio. During the selection of the cues, our main guideline was to represent the show’s musical essence with all the memorable themes getting a nod from the second to the last season.”
In “Charmed” (eight seasons with 178 episodes), three sisters (Prue, Piper and Phoebe) discover that they are descendents of witches, that they have special abilities (stopping time, moving objects, seeing the future) and are able to combine them into the “Power of Three”. They start using their witchcraft and battle against demons, warlocks, and other evils. After the death of Prue, Piper and Phoebe find out that they have a half-sister (Paige) and reunite “The Charmed Ones”.
Starting in 1999 with season #2, J. Peter Robinson composed the soundtrack for every other “Charmed” episode up to the finale of season #8 in 2006. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music, J.P. (born in 1945) worked as a pianist for Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar”. He played and toured with Eric Clapton, Al Jarreau and David Bowie. J.P. composed his first film score in 1986 for “The Wraith”, an action movie with Sherilyn Fenn, Nick Cassavetes and Charlie Sheen. Later and among others, he composed soundtracks for the US versions of several Jackie Chan movies.
