C4 Launches New Shows For Summer

Channel 4 have unveiled its plans for a raft of new shows as it reveals its spring summer programming plans.
The new line -up will include documentaries, dramas and thrillers.
Gordon Ramsay will be sent to prison in Gordon Behind Bars, in which the chef tries to start a baking business in HMP Brixton. That sense of menace, that bad language, the fear - you have to hope the prisoners will be okay.
Coup is Channel 4 drama at its finest. Boasting an all-star cast led by the incomparable Gabriel Byrne, and including Douglas Hodge, Gina McKee, Charles Dance, Rupert Graves and Ruth Negga, the four-part thriller is written by Robert Jones (Lennon Naked) and directed by Ed Fraiman (The Philanthropist), inspired by Chris Mullin's novel A Very British Coup.
Meanwhile Warp has made a show about YouTube parody band The Midnight Beast for E4. Already an online phenomenon with more than 45 million hits on YouTube, parody band The Midnight Beast hit the silver screen. The series features band members Stefan Abingdon, Dru Wakely and Ashley Horne as struggling musicians, alongside a host of comedic guest stars including regulars Simon Farnaby, Ryan Pope and Sophie Wu. The series charts their failures and successes as they try to claw and hobble through a sea of bizarre obstacles and unsavoury characters toward pop stardom.
Pett Television is behind comedy The Angelos Epithemiou Show and Channel 4 head of factual Ralph Lee has commissioned panel show A Short History of Everything Else with Griff Rhys Jones.
