IP&TV Industry Awards Winners Announced
Last night a host of global industry leaders were recognised as the best in their field at the IP&TV Industry Awards Ceremony.
This year Telstra, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei and BT Vision have been counted amongst the winners at the prestigious awards ceremony.
Now in its sixth year, the awards encompass the combined reach of the IP delivered TV community including IPTV, OTT, Connected TV and Hybrid TV.
The awards, which took place at the London Film Museum (21 March), recognise, reward and celebrate innovation, excellence and achievement in the IPTV industry. They ensure that the hard work and dedication exhibited by those in the sector are recognised by service providers and industry standard bodies from around the globe.
Gavin Whitechurch, Executive Director of IP&TV World Forum, said: "The awards are designed to acknowledge and honour the very best of the innovators and forward-thinkers that the global industry has to offer, as showcased by all of the entries and our winners tonight."
Telstra was notably awarded winner of the Best TV Service Innovation for its Telstra T-Box, with BT Vision winning the Best Service Growth Achievement, and DIRECTV and Samsung awarded Best Multiscreen TV Service.
Ben Kinealy, Director of IPTV at Australian Telco Telstra, said: "Telstra’s business benefits from winning this award by spotlighting the differentiation from our competitors. Australia often suffers from the tyranny of distance but Telstra has recently demonstrated that it can work closely with partners, studios, engineers, and manufacturers in countries and time zones all around the planet. The recognition this award brings helps cement our credentials as a technology leader and help lead to future successes."
Joining the line-up of winners is Huawei, who were declared the Best Multiscreen TV Solution; Alcatel-Lucent, Best Network Technology for IPTV; Mariner Partners, Best Quality Improvement Solution; Motorola Mobility, Best Rights and Asset Management for TV; Orca Interactive (a Viaccess subsidiary), Best Service Delivery Platform for IP TV; AT&T, Best TV App; Ericsson, Best Component or Enabler and AT&T and Cisco Best TV Consumer Device.
Fabio Murra, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Solution Area TV at Ericsson said: "The IP&TV Industry Awards act as a symbol of recognition and respect within the industry. Ericsson has been proud to be honoured with previous awards and it enables our customers and industry peers to appreciate the innovation Ericsson is bringing to their businesses by solving complex challenges in new ways, and we’re delighted that this latest award marks the sixth consecutive year that Ericsson has been successful."
The 2012 IP&TV Industry Awards were judged by a prestigious panel of senior and expert individuals, including cable and telecom operators and independent experts, who represent an impressive cross section of the industry.
