Playbox To Launch New Products At NAB

PlayBox Technology is launching new products and presenting the latest developments of its world-leading Channel-in-a-Box technology at NAB 2012.
Adding to the power of this well-established and globally trusted platform, the new products and modular options on show expand capabilities to meet the increasingly diverse requirements of today’s playout channel needs.
Vassil Lefterov, PlayBox Technology CEO said: "We have come a long way from last NAB with doubling of sales in the USA. Also our worldwide sales continue their rapid expansion spearheaded by our country offices and our global partners. Besides the technical developments, our growth in new services, such as our Broadcast Systems Group, has further boosted business. As ever, the market is changing and we now see a trend with our customers’ increasing preference for PlayBox servers with IP inputs/outputs, instead of the traditional SDI."
New Products At NAB
Multiple Playout Manager (MPM) is a fully assignable monitoring and control system with rights management for multiple AirBox playout channels from one or more internet-connected PCs locally or from anywhere in the world via IP. MPM is a networked workflow solution created for multi-channel playout centres to monitor and control all channels locally and assign full or restricted rights for any of the TV channels to one or more people to remotely monitor and/or control the TV channels from a remote PC, iPad, Mobile Phone etc.
MPM allows multiple operators with sufficient rights to monitor and control one or multiple channels schedules, programmes, view media files, etc., and to even make live changes to the output when needed. MPM can be used in a simple or complex network infrastructure complete with full redundant operation, if required.
TitleBox Dashboard enables the full power of TitleBox graphics presentation in live or recorded productions and gives multiple users in a networked environment the ability to contribute to news, sport, game shows and other live programmes. TitleBox Dashboard gives remote control of TitleBox objects arranged in a playlist with hierarchical structure, ideal for known events, and full flexibility to add and change events needed in live programmes
AirBox Multiple Parallel Outputs enables different video formats (SD, HD and 25fps, 30fps) and different outputs (SDI, analogue, IP streaming, etc.) to run at the same time from a single AirBox playout server. AirBox MPO enables the running of two or more multiple outputs so that broadcasters can easily provide parallel outputs in any required combination. For example AirBox MPO can output SDI in HD, SDI in SD, using real-time rescaling, and IP streaming in H.264 (MPEG-4) and MPEG-2 all at the same time.
As a one-box solution AirBox MPO represents a more compact and efficient way to provide a channel in multiple formats and resolutions, removing the need for multiple boxes, additional equipment, infrastructure and automation. AirBox MPO also includes video preview in sync with the output. In addition, streaming outputs can use optional AC3 digital audio.
The new TitleBox Advanced Scripting Engine offers simple and powerful control of TitleBox objects and templates using Java, C# or Pascal to program the CG and graphic capabilities in either a scheduled or live environment. With the TitleBox Advanced Scripting Engine powerful animation sequences can be created and dynamic data used to give instant updated on-air information without the need to use an API.
New for NAB 2012, this provides automation, scheduling and playout for TitleBox, creating a complete interactive CG and graphics channel that can operate independently or be run by external automation, such as AirBox. TitleBox Player makes the full power of TitleBox more easily accessible to enhance the on-air look by providing scheduling and on-air automation with advanced CG and graphics control. It provides playlist creation and replay automation to run local or remote TitleBox servers on air, and can also integrate with third-party scheduling solutions including TrafficBox, NewsAir, etc.
TitleBox Player can be compared with AirBox; what AirBox does for clips, now TitleBox Player can do for CG and graphics. It provides a scheduled playlist so users can schedule and playout graphics events based on time, content, etc. Ready prepared templates can now be used in many different ways, even using part of the template when required. It can be applied anywhere that graphics are needed regardless of the video, or even without video.
