VSI To Show Latest Innovations At NAB

Visionary Solutions (VSI) are getting ready for the upcoming NAB show and are set to exhibit the latest advancements in its portfolio of IPTV and Internet encoding products.
The company will demonstrate PackeTV StreamS, its new integrated video transport manager. Also on display will be VSI's flagship AVN series encoders, designed for use in the Media Processing Platform (MPP) chassis/blade systems.
VSI products have been installed in facilities spanning the government, enterprise, educational, hospitality, and digital signage industries.
Key Product and Technology Demos
• Demo of PackeTV StreamS: At the 2012 NAB Show, VSI will demonstrate for the first time a fully integrated video transport manager, PackeTV StreamS, that enables conversion of transport streams into HTTP Live Streaming (HLS),allowing for the simultaneous distribution of content to hundreds of iPhone®, iPad®, and Android™ 3.0 devices. The product, which has a modular architecture, also manages the transport of multiple MPEG2 transport streams, with either H.264 or MPEG2 payload, between sites over the Internet with SMPTE 2022 FEC support. Additionally, PackeTV StreamS enables multicast and unicast streams to be wrapped-up in one robust, bidirectional transport stream.
• Demo of a digital signage application: VSI will also have a demonstration that will focus on how IPTV encoders efficiently distribute and contribute content as part of a digital signage ecosystem that eliminates redundant equipment costs.
• Demo of an end-to-end IPTV system: VSI will showcase an end-to-end IPTV system with equipment from leading middleware partners and set-top box manufacturers that features comprehensive video-on-demand management solutions including channel guides, aggregated entertainment packages, user-defined content, and more.
Also at the 2012 NAB Show, VSI will showcase its flagship AVN443 encoder
Visionary Solutions' AVN443 encoder enables encoding of high-definition and standard-definition video via an HDMI®/DVI-D or SDI input, and is suitable for all applications requiring cost-effective, low bit rate video distribution over IP networks. The base model includes 480i SD encoding with closed-captioning support. Optional modules enable forward error correction and support for image resolutions of 720p, 1080i, or full 1080p60 in an H.264 stream.
The AVN443 also features a modular firmware architecture, which lowers the base price. Users can purchase only those features they need while enjoying the flexibility to upgrade easily in the future as requirements change.
