Channel 4 To Launch TV Catch Up Service

Channel 4 is aiming to launch a new TV service that would see viewers being able to catch-up with their best shows.
The broadcaster has said that the new channel will give their viewers, who have missed the first broadcast of a top Channel 4 programme, multiple opportunities to see the it again.
It is understood that Channel 4 has lined up a freeview and BSkyB slot for the new channel and are still negotiating with Virgin Media.
Channel 4 has said however that the new addition would not become place for continuous repeats or an archive for old programming. Content will be new popular stuff just transmitted in the UK.
It is hoped that the new channel will be alunched during the summer but the broadcaster hopes that they may have it up and running earlier. There is no confirmed name for the new channel.
This news also comes as Channel 4 has pledged nearly £450 million of the total network programme budget to original UK content in 2012.
