Warner Bros. Number One UK Distributor
Recent figures have revealed the top UK and Irish distributors of 2011 as the UK box office crosses the £1bn mark for the third year running.
Warner Bros. have secured the top spot for the second year in a row thanks mainly to the next Harry Potter installment and the drunken escapades of Alan in The Hangover 2. The distributor was crowned number one grossing £205.8 million.
Paramount Pictures followed in a close second with £183.8 million while Universal Pictures with £137.2 million took third spot.
The top five UK and Irish distributors list was rounded off with Twentieth Century Fox grossing £132.2 million and Walt Disney Studios with £100.8 million.
Meanwhile the UK box office crossed £1bn mark for third consecutive year in 2011.
The total gross at the U.K. and Ireland box office hit £1.1 billion, up 4.5% for 2010’s £1 billion tally.
