Dolby Screen Server Achieves DCI Compliance

Dolby Laboratories have announced that their new screen server has passed the Compliance Test Plan Version 1.1, as conducted by Keio University.
The Dolby Screen Server DSS200 has been certified by the university’s test which now means owners of the existing DSS200 servers will be able to upgrade their servers to ensure compliance with DCI Cinema Systems Specification, Version 1.2 with only a software update. No additional hardware will be required to meet DCI compliance. The software update is expected to be available in 2012.

The Dolby Screen Server is designed by Dolby as an all-in-one platform to store, decode, and deliver pristine movies to the digital cinema projector.
