Sky 3D Announce Attenborough Collaboration

It has been announced that Sky has signed a deal with Sir David Attenborough for a fourth 3D collaboration.
Following the BAFTA award winning Flying Monsters 3D and Bachelor King 3D, to be screened on New Year’s Eve, Sir David is working on a three-part natural history series which tells the story of the remote Galapagos islands.
The show is scheduled to air on Sky in late 2012 it will be written and presented by Attenborough.
Meanwhile it is understood that the natural history series will be produced by Colossus Productions- a company formed by Sky and Atlantic in early 2011.
Sky launched the Sky 3D channel, in October 2010, becoming Europe’s first 3D channel. It has since aired three dimensional content such as a number of music festivals, ballet, concerts, and the show Got to Dance. It has also aired the 3D TV premiers of Avatar, Alice In Wonderland and Toy Story.
This news also comes at a time when Sky has dedicated £600m to programming included in which is the promise of increasing the amount of UK content on their screens by 2014.
