Search Begins For IBC2012 Innovation Awards
The search is now on for the IBC2012 Innovation Awards with broadcast and media companies, and their technology partners being invited to submit collaborative projects that they think match up to the best in the world.
The IBC Awards recognise far more than the latest technology instead they aim to hail technology that has been applied to solve a real operational, creative or commercial challenge.
To win one of these highly prized trophies, a project has to demonstrate collaboration between user and supplier to achieve a clearly defined goal.
Nominations are now being accepted in each of the three categories: for the most innovative projects in Content Creation, Content Management and Content Delivery. There is also a fourth award, the Judges’ Prize, in the gift of the judging panel. While nominations close on Friday 10 February, to ensure the absolute latest in applied technology is considered the entries can be for solutions which have not yet gone on air, but will before IBC in September 2012.
"The momentum behind the IBC Innovation Awards has been building for the last few years, with the entries in 2011 being remarkably exciting,” said IBC’s Michael Lumley, Chair of the Judging Panel.
"Many of the nominations came from broadcasters and media companies themselves, like RIA Novosti in Russia which had developed its own citizen journalism system, and CNN which took the Content Management award for a project which had brought together a large number of technology partners," he continued.
"The pace of change in our industry is still accelerating, and I am sure my fellow judges will once again be faced with some difficult decisions in picking the winners."
