Giggle Group Unveil VFX Tricks

A documentary has gone behind the scenes of BBC medical drama, Casualty, which ended the year with a bang and a spectacular fire at their emergency department this weekend.
The Casualty team celebrated the end of an era with a blazing inferno at Holby City Emergency Department and this documentary is a 'how to' of the incredible effects.
Steve Garratt, Managing Director of the Giggle Group who completed VFX work for the dramatic season finale said: "We started work on the pre production back in May this year and worked closely with the script editors, producers, MTFX (Special effects team) and the Director to ensure we could achieve the maximum impact within the time and budget constraints of a weekly drama series.
"The majority of the explosion scenes were shot on a purpose built Blue screen stage at the BottleYard in Bristol over a 9 day period. We then spent 8 weeks working through the 91 VFX shots using Nuke and After Effects."
The Group have went on to bag the pitch to produce Casualties new titles which will be launch on January 7th when the whole show goes HD for the first time.
