New Features Add 'Control' and 'Accuracy' To Lightspace CMS

UK-based digital film consultancy, Light Illusion, have released a set of new features for their colour management system with the offer of more 'control' and 'accuracy'.
The release will see the upgrade the company's LightSpace CMS. This is a de facto standard global colour management tool for use within the film, TV, and post-production industries where colour control is not just critical, but requires facility-wide management.
Light Illusion describe the equipment as " a simple to use system that is display format and workflow agnostic."
Indeed the system does provide fully integrated facility-wide colour management regardless off the creative systems and displays in use for on-set, post-production, and broadcast workflows. While uniquely, a single LightSpace CMS license can provide total facility-wide calibration capabilities, without the need for multiple systems or a floating license.
"We develop all the Light Illusion colour management tools and services based on real-world experience, providing tools and capabilities directly applicable to industry requirements" said Steve Shaw, CEO of Light Illusion.
"The continued development of LightSpace CMS with the addition of advanced colour science tools provides enhanced calibration capabilities to all users for full display and film profiling, LUT conversion and manipulation, as well as automatic LUT generation for display matching and calibrated preview."
New developments for LightSpace CMS include advanced colour science manipulation tools aimed at improving accurate colour management with lower-cost colour probes, such as the X-Rite i1 Display Pro, through the use of advanced Colour Blend, Axis Blend, and Smooth Filtering algorithms. Changes to the underlying Colour Match engine further enhance end results, providing all users with more choice in terms of cost of calibration, achievable quality and accuracy for all colour critical workflows.
Light Illusion partners with many of the industry's leading colour related names to maximise industry colour accuracy and understanding, including Assimilate, Cine-tal, Pandora International, Penta Studiotechnik, projectiondesign, Quantel, and SGO Mistika, from the manufacturing world, combined with an amazing array of names from the production and post-production world, from major international operations, to small boutique outfits.
"LightSpace CMS makes accurate colour management available to all industry operations, and its new tools and capabilities really help to enhance calibration capabilities and accuracy." adds Steve.
"While LightSpace CMS is already the de facto standard worldwide for colour management, the addition of further improvements and capabilities adds yet another level of control and accuracy regardless of the workflow employed."
