Creative England To Provide Industry Funding

Film agency Creative England has opened up its film culture fund for applications which aims to help those within the film industry.
According to Creative England, the fund aims to ensure that audiences have access to a wide and diverse range of film content, to deepen and enrich audiences’ experience through education opportunities, and to integrate the unique resources of regional screen heritage into wider film provision.
Funding is available for organisations in the English regions outside London such as cinemas, film archives, film festivals and the non-theatrical exhibition sector (mobile cinema and film societies), for project activity including: audience development within the film exhibition sector; film education activities which are linked to and support film exhibition infrastructure (e.g. cinemas, film festivals, film societies and other platforms); and the acquisition, preservation and conservation of and access to regional screen heritage.
The fund has £490,000 available in the first round of funding. Awards will range from £2,000 - £50,000.
Creative England has provided Guidelines on how to apply. Applications should be made online and it is a two-stage process. Applicants will complete a stage one eligibility form, and following an eligibility check, will then be invited by email to complete a full stage two application form.
The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 28 November 2011.
