ITV Studios Takes Hit To Europe And Canada

ITV Studios & ITV Studios Global Entertainment has concluded multiple commissions for its hit entertainment reality format May the Best House Win, it was announced today, as local homeowners get set to showcase their fascinating and varied tastes in Europe and Canada.

Shaw Television in Canada has commissioned a 13 episode series for production by Canadian-based factual specialist Proper Television. May the Best House Win will debut on HGTV Canada channel in late 2012.

In Europe, Belgium’s commercial network VTM has signed two series of four episodes each, produced locally by Endemol. May the Best House Win will broadcast from this autumn. ITV Studios France, the company’s local production office based in Paris has also just completed production on a pilot for national broadcaster France2.
The show follows four very different homeowners as they host a tour of their homes. In May The Best House Win, we find out just how accurate the saying ‘you are where you live’ actually is. Going through the keyhole of homes as weird and wonderful as their occupants, contestants get a chance to snoop around before giving their frank opinions and rating the home, each hoping that at the end it’s their house that will come out on top.

Shows like Come Dine With Me and Four Weddings have not only been produced around the world, in many instances they have graduated from daytime to primetime and gone on to become returning hits for local broadcasters. Alongside May the Best House Win, ITV Studios Global Entertainment will bring a host of primetime and daytime formats to MIPCOM 2011, including the much-anticipated major entertainment event format Red or Black?, co-produced by ITV Studios and Syco TV, and the award-winning Come Dine With Me, one of the world’s most successful formats, which showcases for daytime and primetime schedules.

 Four Weddings, the factual entertainment format following four competing brides and their different nuptials will also be available, a daily version has recently launched on TF1 in France topping all ratings in its time slot.
