XTFX Puts Autodesk At Heart Of Workflow

Bristol-based Post Production house Films at 59 have worked with top UK Systems Company XTFX to put Autodesk Flame Premium and Bright server at the heart of its Stereo3D workflow.
Throughout 2010, Films at 59 began thoroughly researching the workflows and technology available for 3D Stereoscopic postproduction and VFX. After careful assessment and analysis Films at 59 chose Autodesk Flame Premium to provide a 2K 3D Stereoscopic finishing solution that delivers to all of their clients requirements.
It felt that a shared data environment in both 2K and Stereo3D provided an excellent opportunity to further enhance and complement their existing 2D facilities.
Clients trust Films at 59 for their quality, flexibility and efficiency and it was important that their 2K VFX and Stereo 3D pipeline delivered without compromise.
XTFX, working with Films' own engineering team, designed and installed a shared storage system based on the Bright SAN with Rorke Data hardware providing a 216 TB high availability storage area network that would incorporate Films' existing finishing and grading suites plus the new Autodesk Flame Premium suite.
For Films it's all about the people," said Stuart Dyer Operations Manager.
"We work with some of finest craft and production talent in the industry, and so, in selecting Autodesk Flame Premium and Bright we know that we have the best that is available in terms of craft and technology to serve our client needs."
The new facilities at Films' headquarters in Bristol became operational early in September. This move establishes Films at 59 as the only 2K S3D house west of London - setting the company up for its push into high quality finishing and Stereo3D post for broadcast, movies and corporates.
