beActive Says Yes I Can To Setanta Sports

Transmedia Production Company, beActive has announced it has been commissioned by Setanta Sports to produce Yes I Can, an inspirational series which follows four disabled people as they undertake extreme sports.
The programme is funded by Setanta Sports and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
Yes I Can features moving stories from people with muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, hereditary spastic paraplegics and blindness, following them as they participate in a range of extreme sports, including water skiing and zip lining.
Shot on location around Ireland, the series is directed by award-winning director David Freyne and presented by bind adventurer Mark Pollock. It will air across the UK, Ireland Canada, Australia, Africa, Asia and Australia. A TX date has yet to be confirmed.
Triona Campbell, Series Producer, beActive, said: "Yes I Can is pure feel-good, uplifting, primetime TV for a global audience. The programme looks not only at the preconceptions we as a society put on the disabled, but also on the preconceptions both able bodied and disabled people have about their own personal limitations. We would challenge anyone who watches the series not to feel a little bit more 'Yes I Can' about the obstacles and challenges they face in their own lives after having seen it."
Tony Whelan, Head of Programming, Setanta Sports, added: "We are delighted to be involved with beActive on this series and to be premiering what promises to be remarkable programming."
Yes I Can is being funded through the Broadcasting Authority Sound and Vision scheme. International sales will be handled by beActive which will premier clips from the series at MIPCOM in Cannes this October.
The production marks beActive's second leap into factual programming, having previously produced the on-line urban magazine series Beat Generation.
