Sales Surge At PlayBox Technology

International channel-in-a-box manufacturer PlayBox Technology has reported a 60% increase in sales in the first quarter of 2011, compared to the same period last year.
This level is predicted to continue for the remainder of the year and comes on top of thirty plus per cent increases in the previous two years, putting sales volume now at over two-and-a-half times that of 2008.
Vassil Lefterov, CEO, said: "This is a terrific achievement that is due to our customers' belief in us and is a credit to everyone in the company. Hard work and investment has paid off in all aspects of our business, from R&D through to our free worldwide customer support. Our efforts, that include establishing 15 sales and support centres in ten countries worldwide, are all working together. There's no single 'golden bullet' that's got us here, but we have been, and remain, very much focused on customers' needs, both in technical performance and ongoing support."
The steep increase in sales is spread over all PlayBox Technology's worldwide offices and all are reporting significant growth over the average rate for Q1 in 2010. Pavlin Rahney, Director Solution Sales, commented: "Television broadcast is going digital and many to HD. That is now happening fast, for example there were over 300 new channels established in the EU member states last year alone. Also a growing number of channels are delivered by the internet and we have picked up a good share of this new business too."
Krasimir Dachev, CTO, PlayBox Technology, commented: "Technically, we are in the right place at the right time. The idea of running a TV channel from a commodity IT platform, rather than specialist hardware, has now taken a firm hold. We offer proven playout solutions for both video and for the growing number of file-based workflows that bridge between them and have an unrivalled reputation for directly plugging into all established file formats. Our customers have shown tremendous confidence in us and are always asking for more functions to go inside the 'PlayBox'. This NAB sees more of these requests in products like QCBox for quality control, including level and loudness."
