GTC Explores Sony's 3D Dimension

TV cameramen are to enter to enter a new dimension next month with a Guild of Television Cameramen-backed event focusing on 3DTV.
The GTC workshop, '3DTV - The Emerging Picture' takes place on Friday, 10th December at Sony's premises, Jays Close, Basingstoke.
It has proved so popular as to be already fully booked with the GTC event being hosted by Sony Training at their new 3D Experience facility.
Tutor Paul Cameron will explain the fundamentals of 3D technology, equipment and craft.
Those attending will also learn about the 3D production chain, how we see 3D and how 3D is captured, manipulated, edited, produced and displayed.
It will include Depth cues - explaining the eight depth cues the eyes and brains use to estimate depth and shows how cameramen search for information based on these cues and combine the information to build a mental image of the world.
It will also examine capturing a scene in 3D and show the camera setup required, common mistakes and how to manipulate the captured scene.
