SGT And Active Circle Announce Partnership

SGT, a leading European software vendor in the broadcast and media industry, and Active Circle, a leading software vendor specialised in file storage and data management, have signed a technology parternship.
The two companies will work together to provide an integrated, customised and flexible digital content management solution that fully responds to market expectations.
With this offer they address broadcasters, post-production firms and all suppliers that manage, qualify, store and repurpose large volumes of digital media content. The two solutions integrate perfectly and offer a complete, seamlessly integrated workflow, from ingest to archiving.
SGT's VEDA is an innovative and powerful solution for video content management (Media Asset Management) and for workflow automation. VEDA responds to the latest evolutions in broadcast, such as digitalisation of content, multi-acquisition of media from different sources, advanced search and content update capabilities.
Thanks to VEDA's unique Search & Retrieve feature, for example, users can better exploit all available content. They can rapidly search, recuperate and repurpose the good information out of an increasingly large volume of archived data.
Active Circle proposes a solution for the storage, preservation, protection and lifecycle management of large volumes of digital data. With Active Circle's software solution, users can create a virtual storage space on a hard disk or a tape, using hierarchical storage management (HSM). This storage space can be organised in sub-spaces that can be shared, stored on disk or archived on a LTO tape. Data access is guaranteed due to cluster mode, and data is secured through automated local or remote replication.
Richard de Jong, Area Manager at SGT, said: "Our partnership with Active Circle is strategic and proves that our vision goes beyond the limits of our own product portfolio. Together, we address big broadcasters and post-production firms willing to set up a complete workflow, from ingest to archiving."
Philippe Boyon, Marketing and Business Development Director at Active Circle, added: "Today, our clients face a double challenge: they need to securely store a growing volume of digital content and make it available at any time in a digital workflow because it is their 'raw material'. Together with SGT, we now provide our customers with the answer to this double challenge."
