Rimage Showcases 3D Blu-ray Authoring In Real Time At IBC

Rimage Europe GmbH will be demonstrating live archiving of 3D video footage in HD on Blu-ray Discs at its booth at IBC 2010.
Rimage will combine its hardware and software with the world's first fully integrated FULL-HD 3D camcorder - the Panasonic AG-3DA1.
At its stand - 7.G15a in the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre, visitors will get the opportunity not only to experience the quality of the first fully integrated FULL-HD 3D camcorder, but also the speed and usability of Rimage digital publishing systems. Visitors to the Rimage stand will be able to film themselves with the AG-3DA1 in FULL-HD 3D. The integrated double-lens FULL-HD 3D camcorder allows the recording of FULL-HD 3D videos on SDHC/SD-memory cards. The 3D footage gets stored directly on a Blu-ray disc that gets an individual and fully coloured high-quality imprint.
In addition, to demonstrating automated 3D Blu-ray authoring of digital content, Rimage will showcase several manual authoring solutions. Rimage's solutions efficiently and reliably perform long-term archiving of raw data. Furthermore Rimage demonstrates how digital footage can be easily integrated in existing content management systems with watchfolders or the Rimage software development kit (SDK). If needed, watermarking and copy protection can be added to the stored data.
Jurgen Sattelmayer, Vertical Business Manager EMEA at Rimage, said: "Everybody is talking about 3D, especially after experiencing it at the movies. At IBC we offer the opportunity to experience 3D directly. The visitors to our stand will not only have the chance to see the world's first fully integrated FULL-HD 3D camcorder, they will also be able to learn how data that is created during a 3D production gets processed, archived and published quickly and easily.
"Without a shadow of a doubt, 3D is one of the dominating trends in the AV/broadcast industry. The technology requires user-friendly solutions to spread even further. One way to strengthen the success of 3D is to seamlessly combine professional optical media writers, powerful software and long lasting Blu-ray Discs. We showcase this triad at IBC."
Visitors to IBC can experience 3D in real time at stand 7.G15a. Video footage of them will be recorded live, stored on a Blu-ray Disc and handed out to visitors for free.
