FOR-A Fits New Class HD Production Van

An innovator in professional video processing solutions has supplied equipment, including a HVS-350HS vision mixer, to the German system integrator and OB truck specialist Broadcast Solutions.
The new unique type of OB production vehicle being introduced at IBC2010 raises the bar for a new class of functionality. "Compact 5" is an extremely versatile five-camera production van for fast news and sports production. A ProSat uplink unit is fully integrated.
The 3.5-ton 6m Mercedes Sprinter features up to five cameras and FOR-A's new compact 1.5-M/E HVS-350HS mixer with 24 HD/SD/DVI inputs and built-in multiviewers. FOR-A has also provided its real-time graphics system (video writer) FVW-500HS and character generator VTW-330HS through its dealer, Protel in Sweden, who supports Broadcast Solutions' sales and service in Scandinavia.
Stefan Breder of Broadcast Solutions commented: "This compact van provides unprecedented functionality, similar to larger OB trucks, but at a handy size and weight which fits on all regular roads. This could only be achieved by implementing FOR-A's unique new compact switcher."
