Satellite Channel Selects Latens CAS Solution

Latens, a leading provider of software security solutions for Pay-TV across all networks, has announced that Satellite Channel Nepal, a Pay-TV provider in the South Asia region has chosen Latens DTH software CAS for its DTH system in Nepal.
Satellite Channel has chosen the Latens and Media Nucleus solutions, which comprise of Latens DTH software CAS and will operate on set-top boxes initially from Arion, providing Satellite Channel with a highly flexible and secure DTH delivery system.

Satellite Channel was awarded a DTH operating license at the start of the year and will launch with a minimum of 80 national and international HD/SD channels. Satellite Channel target bringing DTH services to 300,000 to 400,000 subscribers within the first three years of operations.
The company said that with the launch of the first DTH platform in Nepal using the latest and most advanced digital technology available would be a step changing TV experience for consumers in the region and dramatically reduce the government incurred losses through the illegal import of DTH services.
