TrafficBox By PlayBox To Launch At IBC 2010
PlayBox Technology has signed an agreement with Step2e to offer a cost-effective and fully integrated traffic and playout system for television broadcast applications.
Named TrafficBox, the new product is set for launching at the IBC 2010 exhibition between September 10 - 14 at Amsterdam RAI at Stand 8.C30.
TrafficBox draws on the talents of both companies to provide a complete range of fully integrated traffic management and broadcast playout capabilities. TrafficBox ties a wide range of activities together into one coherent system that includes scheduling, traffic and rights management, planning, as-run logging, sales, statistics, billing and pre-billing. It allows the creation of long and short-term programme grids down to frame-accurate run lists including live, tape or video server events for single or multi-channel clients.
Vassil Lefterov, CEO of PlayBox Technology, said: "This combination is more powerful than the sum of its parts. Step2e has already established an excellent track record in the industry for innovation and quality of product and is a perfect fit with PlayBox Technology. So, a wide range of broadcasters can take full advantage of the efficiency and speed that TrafficBox offers at the price they want to afford."
Stefan Wagenpfeil, CEO of Step2e, added: "The products from PlayBox Technology and Step2e complement each other perfectly. integrating our administrative, editorial and management tools to PlayBox playout, graphics and automation has worked really well and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful working relationship."
TrafficBox can create 'ingest' events lists for CaptureBox, titling and graphic events lists for TitleBox and playout events lists for AirBox with preview and file management included. All files can be previewed and edited and the whole operation is fully integrated with the PlayBox Technology software.
Targeted at broadcasters who need TV business management solutions, TrafficBox includes all the features for programme planning, advertising sales operations and long-term playlists scheduling. It also provides for the preparation of the physical material that is presented on-air: the video, audio, text, graphics and subtitles.
The traffic management system within TrafficBox is a client/server database application provided by Step2e. This allows a virtually unlimited number of users to access the management server where all relevant data can be entered, saved and modified. Used together with PlayBox Technology automation systems, it allows both new and existing broadcasters to achieve more efficient workflows.
The high level of integration offers significant advantages in the overall management of both single and multiple TV channels such as allowing the programme planning department to modify active rundowns without the involvement of the MCR personnel; or reducing the operator time required for everyday tasks, while eliminating the chances of mistakes caused by human error.
With PlayBox Technology being the single provider of the complete TV broadcast technology there is a single point of contact for all technical support as well as software and hardware maintenance.
