Element Technica New Pulsar And Neutron 3D Rigs At IBC

News Image
Designers and manufacturers of the groundbreaking Technica 3D camera rigs that simplify 3D video production, will unveil the Pulsar and display production models of the new Neutron 3D rigs at IBC 2010.
Element Technica will introduce the Pulsar, engineered to stereoscopically mount mid-sized and box-style digital cameras such as the Scarlet, Epic, SI-2K, Sony EX3 and P1, mounted with any ENG-style lenses. The Neutron is designed for the smallest HD cameras, including the SI-2K, Iconix and Wige Media CUNIMA, carrying C-mount lenses. The two new Technica 3D rigs join the Quasar, designed for the largest cameras, including Sony HDC-1500, HDC-1500 T-block, P1 and F23/35, the Genesis, the RED ONE, ARRI D-21 and Phantom, mounted with prime or zoom lenses.
Technica 3D rigs have become the industry standard since the introduction of the Quasar at the 2009 IBC exhibition. Quasars were used exclusively for the soccer world championships in South Africa this summer, the French Open and Europe’s 6 Nation Rugby Tournament, as well as for production of 3D feature films including The Darkest Hour, Napoleon and The Mortician. ET's rigs are renowned for their robust construction, utilising aircraft-grade CNC machined aluminium as well as stainless steel and carbon fiber, and for the ability to be set-up and precisely aligned in a short period of time. Additionally, ET 3D rigs are camera agnostic, and the same rig can be configured in side-by-side or beam-splitter modes (over/thru and under/thru).
Also premiering in the Element Technica stand at IBC will be the new Hand-Controller for Technica 3D rigs. The controller provides a familiar look and feel to camera assistants schooled in industry-standard lens controls. Utilising Element Technica's virtual stop technology, the Hand-Controller’s I/O (interocullar) and convergence control parameters for an individual shot can be programmed into the Hand-Controller, allowing the stereo assistant to spread the entire range of control needed over the full rotation of the control knob.
