Congratulations For UK Sound Oscar
The Association of Motion Picture Sound has offered its congratulations to production sound mixer Ray Beckett on his Oscar award for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing on hit movie, The Hurt Locker.
Ray, a long time member of AMPS, and his colleague, boom operator Simon Bysshe, also an AMPS member, worked hard under arduous conditions in Amman and the Swaga desert, in Jordan, to produce a sound track of outstanding quality to accompany the exciting pictures and script. Both Ray and Simon are British and based in London.
This year Ray and the sound team have also been recognised for their sound contribution to The Hurt Locker winning the BAFTA Award for Best Sound and the CAS (Cinema Audio Society – US equivalent of AMPS) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing: Motion Pictures.
