Belfast Film Business Develops Future

A Belfast based film company which is hoping to achieve export sales of £1million over the next two years has been investing in its future.
Invest Northern Ireland is supporting a £450,000, investment by Generator Film Development Limited - a film production company created to develop and produce film projects in Northern Ireland for an international audience.
Its establishment will add significantly to the impact the Northern Ireland creative industry economy is having on a global stage.
Invest Northern Ireland has offered over £85,000 to support the company's wider investment plans, including the development of their management team and increasing brand awareness of Generator among international film production and distribution companies.
Generator Film Development established by joint promoters and highly accomplished producers, Mark Huffam and Simon Bosanquet, plans to create six new jobs, including two key management positions over the next three years to assist with key business support functions and production activities.
Mark and Simon have undertaken projects for major film corporations such as Universal Pictures and HBO including the five times Academy Award winning production Saving Private Ryan, Mamma Mia and most recently Game of Thrones.
Donal Durkan, Director of Life Sciences and Creative at Invest NI commented: "This is a significant investment for the local film production industry and forms part of our ongoing support for the sector.
"It is clear from recent announcements that the local skills and capabilities which have been developed are placing Northern Ireland in an increasingly competitive position to win global production projects," he said.
"Generator Film Development's plans to increase brand awareness and foster relationships with international finance, production and distribution partners are essential to the success of the company, which is operating in a rapidly evolving marketplace," he concluded.
Mark Huffam, Joint Promoter of Generator Film Development commented: "We've set ambitious targets for the next two years and with our combined 40 years of experience in the industry we are confident they are achievable.
"Invest NI's commitment to assist the growth of Generator will help us rapidly position and maintain the company as a leading light within the worldwide film industry," he said.
