Multi-Channel Server for Uncompressed HD launched
DVS have announced the launch of "HDXWay", a dual channel server system for uncompressed real-time HD record and play-out. This innovative machine incorporates two independent HD channels on a shared high-speed HD videodisk array.
Based on two of DVS' ultra powerful HDStation boards, set in a specially configured motherboard, HDXWay continues the tradition of DVS servers started by the legendary Pronto server.
By introducing HDXWay, DVS shows once again its technological lead and at the same time fulfills a wish of many customers requiring multi-channel functionality. HDXWay has been designed for TV stations transmitting in various time zones and for users involved with stereovision solutions. Of course it can be applied too in any application requiring the flexibility of concurrent record and play.
As with all DVS HD products, HDXWay supports the popular HD formats plus 2K and even 4K.
"HDXWay is to our knowledge the first uncompressed HD server on the market. With its introduction, DVS demonstrates again its position as the leading supplier of uncompressed HD solutions. We've cracked the throughput barrier with this and achieve huge data rates of up to 350 MB/sec," comments Jürgen Heger, Product Manager for turnkey solutions at DVS.
The system is highly compact; coming in just two 4U cases and is available immediately.
