Doing Good Catering Ltd

Doing Good Catering uses its profits to tackle food poverty. We ran cooking sessions for low income families in Cardiff and Bristol but now contact is limited, we’ve had to look at alternative ways of supporting people out of food poverty.

In 2021 we worked with five production companies catering for 1000’s of people and generating over £7,000 towards our charitable goal. That’s £7,000 to spend on cooking sessions if they can resume this year, or if they cannot, we will give away fruit & vegetable bags with recipe cards and online tutorials to partner charity groups to distribute to their clients. A sort of Hello Fresh for those who can’t afford Hello Fresh!

We are in discussions with foodbanks and charities to get this started.

Eating Well, Doing More
Being sustainable caterers means our menus are seasonal with many ingredients organically grown on our own allotment. We have always hated that food production is such a wasteful industry with leftovers going into landfill, polystyrene & plastic cutlery still being used and poor wages being paid. We have never subscribed to that nonsense.

Whilst we offer a variety of great meat and fish options, we specialise in Vegetarian and Vegan cooking as we believe that this is far better for our planet.

Steen's Cooking School
Steen has been teaching young people and community groups cooking skills since 2008. His philosophy is that food is the route to well-being and learning to cook gives independence and control over health, finances and social exclusion. A Health Champion and youth worker he knows how to engage and inspire.

You help tackle food poverty when you book us!
Unlike any other film and TV catering business in the UK, we use a portion of our profits to tackle food poverty. 2021’s revenue suggests that’ll be a minimum of £7,000 which may increase, depending on the final figure from our accountants. That pays for around 2,000 recipe bags including fresh fruit & vegetables with recipe card and online tutorials. Once the charitable partners are firmed up, we can get on and help those who need support.
