About Red Cat Broadcasting Ltd
Red Cat Broadcasting has behind it over 30 years of communications, electronic and RF engineering experience coupled with extensive broadcast knowledge with over 15 years of BBC training, experience and skills.
These engineering and broadcast skills have come together to build a state-of-the art DSNG vehicle equipped with solutions to make your life easier, smoother and get your broadcast out there to your clients reliably and quickly.
The driving force behind Red Cat Broadcasting is Managing Director Benjamin Jewell. Previously employed by the BBC at Birmingham’s Pebble Mill studios and then latterly Television Centre and the Broadcast Centre, Benjamin takes his extensive engineering knowledge and skills and puts them to good use at Red Cat Broadcasting.
Our stylish, modern truck (designed and built by us) boasts a wealth of broadcast technology for both transmit and streaming to receiving reverse vision or off air feeds along with mobile internet and full solid state media ingest and editing on board.
Based centrally near Kettering in the East Midlands we are a stone’s throw from the M1, M6 and A1M major motorways for north-south destinations and right by the A14 major trunk road for east-west destinations and access to the M11 and therefore can offer a rapid deployment for any breaking news story or event.
Our Broadcasting Services
Whatever your broadcast requirements give us a call. We’re confident our industry-leading equipment packed “sat truck” will be your one-stop broadcast solution.
We can provide:
Transmission as either traditional SNG or via IP (Internet) for streaming / FTP applications.
If you do not have your own leased segment or transponder and require satellite space then please let us know at time of booking/quoting and we can book this for you.
We usually charge a flat daily rate for normal SNG uplinks. If you require something special then we can easily arrange that by request
No hidden charges. If we carry it onboard you can have it on the day!
We can provide HD cameras, editing, sound recording (using our state of the art Behringer X32 compact console) and a range of transmission options from DSNG links to internet streaming.
Connectivity into the SNG Truck can be via cable, fibre optic or wireless camera link – “digi-link” which has almost zero latency.
DSNG:
Recording / Playback via Blackmagic Hyperdeck & Ultrastudio with over 4TB of storage plus we have Sony XDCam and Panasonic P2 player/recorders.
Streaming:
LiveU LU300 streaming that can handle 12.5 MB/s upload in H.264 AVC or H.265 HEVC HD or SD.
Internet:
Satellite internet, cellular and wifi bonded networks creating a robust, fast IP service for browsing/email and uploading/streaming/FTP.
