A fourth-generation family business, Smith & Rodger has been manufacturing woodfinishes for over 130 years. Traditional values of customer service and high quality product are part of Smith & Rodger's proud history, and these are values we still hold high today. However our technical department makes sure that we continue to evolve, developing innovative new products and bespoke woodfinishing solutions for our varied client bas.

To complement our wide product range, from shellac to waxes to lacquers, we also train both amateur enthusiasts and professionals in the arts of woodfinishing and restoration.

Shellac Polishes
Time-honoured methods and high quality product. For the past 60 years we have used the same machinery and processes to manufacture our range of shellac polishes. As a result we are recognised as producers of the finest quality shellac products anywhere in the United Kingdom. Our extensive selection of shellac polishes offers a solution for every traditional woodfinishing project.

Lacquers
Smith & Rodger are proud distributors of the ISF range of wood finishes. ISF are also a family run business that offer a wide selection of lacquers that compliment our extensive range of woodfinishes. Through our on-site Promatch© tinting machine we are able to supply Pre-Cat, A.C, Polyurethane and Waterbased lacquers in over 20,000 shades that are supplied in 1 litres, 5 litres and 25 litres.

Waxes
Waxes are used primarily to provide decorative protection on all timbers. The Briwax© range is used when colour matching is sought and our own Superwax polish has been used by many respected establishments such as Holyrood Palace to maintain their antique furniture.
