DVEO Introduces Video Network Management Server to Monitor, Manage, and Control Multiple DVEO Streaming Devices
San Diego, California -- DVEO®, a well respected supplier to leading telco TV/OTT and cable operators around the world, is now shipping their scalable network management server. The DASHBOARD II™ enables control and monitoring of multiple DVEO streaming devices and file based transcoders across an enterprise or a network via a single dashboard residing on a DVEO server at a highly connected central point. It will make its debut at stand 2.A34 at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), September 15-19, in Amsterdam.
The DASHBOARD II is DVEO's centralized network based resource management hardware/software solution designed to manage Cloud, Telco, or Enterprise deployments of clusters of encoders, transcoders, decoders, and video servers.
The software provides a single "dashboard" to start and stop streaming devices on an as-needed basis. It automates error handling and if needed instantly alerts management via text or email alerts. The software resides on a low end server which features extra redundancies.
"With the DASHBOARD II, one person can oversee and control the operational status of an unlimited number of devices. With today's powerful computers we can in real time also automatically analyze the streams and fix the streams in real time as well," commented Laszlo Zoltan, Vice President of DVEO. "The system is suitable for use with both traditional hardware clusters and cloud based resources."
The DASHBOARD II logs events and can store a history of output bitrate, jitter and packet loss errors up to one year. Later on it will provide scheduling.

DVEO Enables Telcos to Create Channels for Roku® and Android™ Set-Top Boxes in Minutes
San Diego, California -- DVEO®, a well respected supplier to leading telco TV/OTT and cable operators around the world, is now shipping their professional application for creating OTT or IPTV channels on Roku® or Android™ set-top boxes. The TV APP Maker™ will be demonstrated in booth SU5724 at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 24-27.
The TV APP Maker enables anyone to quickly create a private channel icon on any Roku® or Android™ set-top box and obtain a new channelized line-up of content that is served via a DVEO ATLAS™ packaging server. All one does is insert a "code". Each channel will appear on a "splash home page" with icons and brief descriptions. Private channels are not displayed on the Roku® channel store unless added manually. Once added, however, the channel will be visible thereafter.
"DVEO wants to provide churches, schools, and small Telcos with an inexpensive 'middleware like' solution to quickly and easily create a community of viewers," commented Laszlo Zoltan, Vice President of DVEO. "The TV APP Maker is provided as a means to support anyone who needs less than 2,000 units and does not need a billing system. There are no monthly or annual fees, and no charges to load videos."
Instead of hiring a software developer, operators simply enter HLS links to videos, then customize the apps with branding -- adding logos, video titles, descriptions, pictures, different backgrounds/colors, URLs, etc. Additionally, the APP Maker supports a variety of different backgrounds and type fonts. Users can create, edit, and manage all apps with one software application.
The TV APP Maker relies on DVEO's ATLAS™ Packaging Server to serve the channels. To groom all streams to the needed resolution and bit rate, DVEO recommends their Brutus™ Telco transcoders.
The software can deliver live or VOD HLS URLs to all Roku® devices from CDNs or other servers. It supports all broadcast resolutions.
The TV APP Maker is an addable feature to DVEO's Brutus™, Gearbox II™, Gearbox™, Ministreamer™, MultiStreamer™, and D-Streamer™ product lines. It is also available as a small standalone system to use with CDNs.

DVEO Launches H.264 Tablet Encoder with Built-In Cameras and Error-Free Live Streaming
San Diego, California -- DVEO®, a well respected supplier to leading telco TV/OTT and cable operators around the world, has developed a unique platform based live streaming H.264 encoder with built-in front and back cameras plus DVEO's patented DOZER™ ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) Automated UDP Packet Recovery protocol.
The TABLET STREAMER™ is designed for mobile live streaming of events by journalists and other professionals who need an ultra-small field unit that is compatible with industry standard receivers. It connects via WiFi to MiFi cellular gateways or via a built-in sim. DVEO will introduce the new system at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 24-27, in booth SU5724.
The TABLET STREAMER is the most recent addition to DVEO's product portfolio of real time encoders. Featuring two built-in 5 megapixel 720p cameras and noise-cancelling microphones, the Linux® based system receives one input from either the front or back camera and encodes it to a single H.264 stream at .1 to 15 Mbps, up to 720p 60. IP output protocols include UDP, RTP, DASH, HTTP Live (HLS), or RTMP (Open Flash).
"The tiny unit allows anyone to acquire quality live content in remote locations at a reasonable cost, via a non-proprietary lightweight device," stated Laszlo Zoltan, Vice President of DVEO. "We recommend it for mobile and event oriented streaming, and as a journalist tool."
"The TABLET STREAMER incorporates DVEO's patented DOZER™ ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) UDP protocol extension to deliver pack loss free and jitter free video and audio over IP networks including wireless and the Internet, " Laszlo Zoltan went on to say. "The DOZER protocol can be turned off if operators select to stream to Verizon® or Akamai® CDNs and turn on upLynk™ or Infinite Uplink™."
The TABLET STREAMER provides a preview so operators can see the video being streamed. It streams and records at the same time and video streams are saved to the internal solid state drive.
The system also enables operators to overlay logos, text, and closed captioning to the stream. It supports SCTE 35 triggers for ad insertion via SCTE 104 triggers.
The TABLET STREAMER features a touch GUI and a remotely manageable web-based GUI for network and streaming setup. The touch GUI can also be customized.
An optional single SDI/HD-SDI or HDMI input can be added to the system with a Magewell™ USB adapter.

San Diego, California -- DVEO®, a well respected supplier to leading telco TV/OTT and cable operators around the world, is now shipping miniature low latency H.264 HDMI encoders and decoders. The single-channel Ministreamer™ HDMI/IP and Mini D-Streamer™ IP/HDMI will make their debut in booth SU5724 at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show, April 24-27, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"We shrank the products, and lowered the price and the latency," stated Laszlo Zoltan, Vice President of DVEO. "When used together, the Ministreamer HDMI/IP and Mini D-Streamer IP/HDMI have an end-to-end latency of 400 milliseconds. Both devices are 5.5 inches wide and weigh only 1.6 pounds, which makes them ideal for mobile and event streaming. And we can customize them if needed."
