About Steel The Scene
STAGES & SCENERY FOR TV, CONFERENCES, THEATRE AND LIVE EVENTS
Welcome to Steel the Scene. We are specialist scenery & stage builders for Conference, Theatre, Exhibition, TV & Live events.
Steel The Scene was formed in 1997 & has been at the forefront of scenic production taking on an extensive range of contracts, supplying immaculately finished items for an extensive range of conference, theatre, opera, TV & live event projects.
We offer a personal service and are specialists in tailoring products to client needs, producing goods and services that meet and exceed expectations. We are flexible and are able to design, manufacture, transport and install around the world.
When a project demands we are enthusiastic contributors to the design process & can help take a challenging concept to spectacular reality. Dependent on the contract size we are able to call upon additional labour from a long established group of highly motivated and experienced freelancers. This includes carpenters, engineers, fabricators, scenic artists & electricians who are fully conversant with the high standards and good working practices that we & our clients expect.
Health & Safety: We are CHAS accredited & all of our fulltime staff have completed Safety Passport training (SPA) & are certified for PASMA, IPAF & Ladders.
Many of our regular freelancers have also attended these training courses alongside us & we continue to encourage all of them to do so. Our premises are conveniently located just 5 miles South from Junction 6 off the M25 motorway giving us easy access to central London, and the main London airports.
Steel The Scene can provide modular stock sets in four styles or build bespoke sets to your requirements.
CNC Router Cutting Services
Our twin head 3mtr x 2mtr CNC machine is operated by dedicated highly trained technicians & provides us with the ability to rout many panel products including plywood, MDF, Laminates, Aluminium composites, & plastics to produce single or multiple component items with precise accuracy. This enables us to provide a cost effective quality solution for many items & offers new possibilities for designers.
We use the very latest software & AutoCAD packages which normally allow us to produce an item even from a basic drawing.
We also offer CAD drawing services to turn your drawings into CNC format.

2 Available For Hire
2 metre, 4,575 metre, 6 metre configurations
Variable speed & direction with programmed stopping positions. (Fast speed variations available for game shows).
All of the functions can be simply adjusted or programmed on site.
Central power supply available for eg, car headlamps & accessories.
