The Moving Image and Sound Collections are home to many significant film, video and audio titles related to human and animal health and welfare. The ‘jewels in our crown’ are the c.60 films made or commissioned by the Wellcome Foundation, later the Wellcome Trust Film Unit, on subjects ranging from cardiology, clinical neurology, immunology, obstetrics, to parasitology and pharmacology.

We also hold a number of key donations from individuals, medical charities and institutions. We are an essential starting point for any research project on the History of Medicine with comprehensive coverage of broadcasted material on all the key bio-medical topics.
