Da Vinci Appoints Industry Veteran Russ Chelsey To Director Of Worldwide Strategic Accounts

da Vinci Systems, a subsidiary of JDS Uniphase Corporation, has announced that Russ Chesley, a 30-year entertainment industry veteran, has joined da Vinci as director of worldwide strategic accounts. Chelsey will help da Vinci respond to emerging trends and challenges within the industry and will work to strengthen the company's strategic partnerships and accounts.
Mark Malonowski, da Vinci's general manager, said: "Mr Chelsey will take the lead in managing da Vinci Systems' relationships with our client-partners, creating joint development plans, and working toward even stronger business relationships worldwide. His long experience in, and intimate knowledge of our industry will be a tremendous asset."
During the past 30 years, Chelsey has held executive positions with leading entertainment companies, most recently acting in senior sales and market development positions at Dolby Laboratories, where he served clients that included Disney, Time Warner, Paramount Pictures, Dreamworks, Technicolor, Deluxe and Ascent Media. Previously, Chelsey held executive positions with Showscan Entertainment.
Chelsey is actively involved in the entertainment industry and professional trade organisations including SMPTE, the Hollywood Post Alliance, Themed Entertainment Association, Digital Cinema Society, the Giant Screen Theatre Association and the Turnaround Management Association.
Chelsey is based in Los Angeles and reports to Malonowski.
