HTV COMPLETES SECOND 'NUTS & BOLTS ' SERIES

OVER the past few months the second run of the HTV Wales series ‘Nuts & Bolts’ has been filming in Merthyr Tydfil.
Peter Edwards, HTV Wales Head of Drama Development said: “We had such a good response to last year’s series with viewers phoning in to say that the series had come to an end too quickly, that this year, we’ve decided to make an extra six episodes including a special episode to start the series which we’ve tagged Episode Zero.”
‘Nuts & Bolts’ has proved to be a phenomenal success for HTV Wales scooping the prestigious RTS Award for Best Regional Programme, being shown four times on ITV2 with plans to repeat it again twice, and also to show the second series on the network digital plan.
As well as acquainting themselves with favourite characters such as bitchy Veronica Peters, (Sian Rivers), and cheeky Lip Thomas, (Roger Evans), in the second series viewers will be introduced to some new characters including the rough and ready Gilly family.
These new actors, the majority from South Wales Valleys, have undergone rigorous training for these roles and Edwards is confident that the second series will be as popular as the first.
Edwards said: “We don’t want to shock or frighten anybody. But ‘Nuts & Bolts’ is always going to push the boundaries and be stimulating to watch, hopefully, for all age ranges.”
The first programme of the 26 episode series is scheduled to begin transmission on Monday, October 2, at 7pm.
The first series of the HTV Wales soap series was hailed as an instant success when it was first shown last autumn.
