AGTEL WIN IVCA AWARD FOR TRAINING FILM

AGTEL enjoyed success after a major win at the International Visual Communication Association (IVCA) Awards, the “Oscars” of the Corporate Television Industry.
Agtel Managing Director John Cummins and Producer Maria O'Loughlin picked up the prestigious prize at a gala awards ceremony in London. Winning in the 'Motivational Training' Category, their film entitled ‘The Unusual Suspects’ was commissioned by the Garda Siochana to raise awareness of age and gender discrimination issues within the Irish police force.
Directed by up and coming film maker Chris Roche and produced by Maria O'Loughlin, The ‘Unusual Suspects’ was described by the IVCA judges as: “An impressive programme with sensitive handling of the issues with fine performances, good dialogue and simple, but focused direction.”
Agtel has seen a great deal of television success in recent years with hits like ‘Ear to the Ground’ and ‘Beastly Behaviour’ on RTÉ, but this award is viewed as a real boost for the company’s thriving corporate and educational wing.
According to John Cummins: “It just goes to show that Irish production companies can and do compete impressively on the world stage.” (AMcE)
