Prime Vision Studio Invests In Ikegami UHK-X700 4K Studio/EFP Cameras

Prime Vision Studio has invested in Ikegami UHK-X700 4K studio/EFP cameras for addition to its production fleet.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, Prime Vision Studio has long experience both in systems design and operation including coverage of studio-based and location events.

"We are seeing increasing demand for 4K-UHD HDR capability as it ensures that the resultant productions have a long commercial lifetime even if the short-term requirement is for HD SDR transmission," commented Mr. Mansoor Meghani, Managing Director of Prime Vision Studio. "We chose Ikegami UHK-X700 cameras for their ability to integrate easily into studio-based projects, truck-based outside broadcasts or EFP-style mobile content creation. They combine operational versatility with high signal quality and are strongly built to withstand the rigours of outdoor operation. We were also impressed by the support we received from Ikegami Middle East. Eight UHK-X700 camera systems including a high-frame-rate version have been added to our rental fleet. These will be available for dry hire, crewed hire or as part of a complete production management service."

"Prime Vision Studio is a highly respected company with a strong customer base within the UAE and internationally," added Abdul Ghani, General Manager, Ikegami Middle East. "We are confident that its production team will find the UHK-X700 cameras robust and feature-rich solutions for a wide range of applications."

A recent addition to the Ikegami Unicam XE 4K series, the UHK-X700 is designed for use in studio or outdoor applications and couples with the BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100 camera control unit. At the optical front end are three 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors with a global shutter which provides freedom from rolling-shutter distortion and flash-banding artifacts. Full HDR/SDR support is provided plus the ability to choose between BT.709 and BT.2020 colour spaces. High frame-rate shooting at up to 2x speed in 4K or up to 8x speed in HD via the base station is possible as an option, for applications such as capturing fast motion in sport or stage events.

When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station, the UHK-X700 allows cable lengths of up to 3 km, including power to the camera head; simultaneous output in HD SDR and UHD HDR video formats is supported, including mixed sources. 4K-UHD video is available as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, allowing the UHK-X700 to be integrated into a wireless system. The camera weighs only 5 kg and comes with a B4 lens mount. Optical sensitivity is F11 when operating at a frame rate of 50p, both in UHD and HD.
