Challenger Communications Announces New 2023 NAB Show Antenna Package

News Image
Challenger Communications LLC has announced a new 2023 NAB Show antenna package designed to help earth station antenna operators ensure compliance with the Phase II Accelerated Relocation Deadline, the final C-band spectrum relocation deadline dictated by the FCC 20-22 Report and Order.

The 05 December deadline for this final phase of spectrum clearing for 5G is now only months away, and the Challenger package combines in-stock 3.8-meter and 4.5-meter dishes with the appropriate feed and filter options to address customers' unique requirements.

"The last of the C-band spectrum clearing deadlines is coming up fast, and earth station operators that still need to transition to the upper portion of the C-band spectrum are running short on time," said Gene Sorgi, president at Challenger Communications. "Our 2023 NAB Show package offers a deal on essential ground equipment, plus the benefit of our decades of industry expertise and our relationships with installers across North America. We're ready to help operators get over the finish line before the deadline with confidence that they can maintain uninterrupted service."

Challenger's aluminum Prime Focus antennas have excellent RF gain and a signal-to-noise ratio that ensures high tolerance to changing weather and atmospheric conditions. The 3.8-meter and 4.5-meter antennas can be installed by just two people using a ladder. Both antennas in this family consist of contoured, die-formed petals and outboard skirts — all powder-coated — with stainless steel hardware. These high-gain, receive-only C-/Ku-band dishes are outstanding performers for 4K UHD and HDTV, as well as for headend applications, GOES weather systems, radio broadcasting, and more.

In addition to supplying its 3.8-meter and 4.5-meter Prime Focus satellite antenna systems, the most common solutions for U.S. operations, Challenger offers 6.3-meter and 7.5-meter antennas suitable for users situated far from the geostationary equatorial orbit (GEO), such as those in Alaska and Hawaii. Challenger Communications also offers a 3.8-meter-offset antenna for uplink GEO applications.

Sorgi will be available at the 2023 NAB Show to discuss package elements and pricing according to factors such as provider, location, and installation and positioning requirements — and also to discuss the potential impact of C-band interference on Canada and Mexico for operators along the border and beyond.
