Miranda extend Densité Series

Miranda Technologies has greatly extended its Densité Series interfacing and distribution range with 23 new interface modules featuring advanced control and monitoring over IP capabilities.
"The Densité Series now provides a full breadth of interfacing functions, including incoming and outgoing feed processing, HD downconversion, analogue-to-digital conversion, embedding and de-embedding, multiformat distribution, fibre interfacing, and telemetry probes for monitoring over IP," said Neil Sharpe, Vice President of marketing at Miranda Technologies.
The compact (2RU) Densité Series frame can be fully controlled over IP via an integral Ethernet port, using either a compact remote control panel or Miranda's iControl PC software. Many of the new conversion, signal processing and telemetry modules provide streaming over IP of video thumbnails, audio levels, MP3 audio, and metadata including captions and timecode, and this allows desktop users of iControl software to see and hear the signals being processed. This direct feedback from streaming data enhances control and monitoring activities significantly.
Signal monitoring is further strengthened with the Line Scope Over IP option for many of the new modules. The Line Scope Over IP provides streaming of signal telemetry data, and allows users to view waveform and vectorscope displays from a PC.
The new iControl QC Over IP soft control panel combines these waveform/vectorscope displays with proc-amp controls and multiple video thumbnails of the incoming/outgoing feeds to greatly simplify signal processing and minimise operator errors.
The Densité frame also has been enhanced with an integral monitoring bus option, called the Monitoring Switching Bridge (MSB), which allows any video or audio output from the frame to be switched to a single monitoring output. The MSB is fully scalable, and multiple Densité frames can be cascaded to create a longer monitoring bus.
With the MSB, a separate monitoring router is not required, saving both cost and space. The Densité frame also features a reference distribution module option to feed a common reference to all the cards in the chassis. Additionally, the frame now provides Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) support, which communicates the status of the frame, cards, and signals directly to SNMP managers.
The Densité frame offers exceptional space efficiency, with up to 20 modules per 2RU chassis. Densité frames can be stacked without cooling spaces, making it a compact facility solution. A single frame can be used for multiple video and audio formats, including HD-SDI, SDI, and analogue video, as well as digital and analogue audio.
