Ideal Systems implement Showman 5000 in TVB Galaxy project
Ideal Systems Asia Pacific Ltd, one of Hong Kong's leading broadcast systems integrators, haves awarded Broadcast Technology Ltd a contract for Showman 5000-series analogue television receivers.
These will be used by TVB Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Ltd to turn-around Chinese-language transmissions from their Hong Kong production centre. TVB Galaxy is a joint venture between Television Broadcasts Ltd (TVB) and Intelsat USA, specialising in high-quality Chinese entertainment. The network expanded their services in 1998 with two 24-hour Mandarin language satellite channels, TVB Channel 8 and TVB Xing He Channel. Broadcast Technology's Showman 5000 is a 1U rack-mountable receiver designed for professional analogue broadcast use.
Typical applications include monitoring, digital TV head ends, OB trucks and general analogue TV reception.
